Our History

Beginning in 2024, the Governor’s Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect (GTF) and Children’s Advocacy Centers of Michigan (CACMI) will be co-hosting a new merged conference event, combining the history of 26 years of the GTF’s annual summit with CACMI’s 13 years hosting the Child Advocacy Conference!

With GTF as a presenting sponsor for the annual CACMI Conference in 2022 and 2023, this dream partnership is excited to build something new, without losing the identity of the two events which inspired us. Our beautiful state is a national leader in child abuse investigative response and merits an international presence in providing training excellence to multidisciplinary professionals worldwide. Detroit is a natural fit for our Michigan conference with a diverse and vibrant community. It is the perfect place to welcome attendees from around the world to share new ideas and learn how to improve our response to child abuse and neglect.
